The TOGA Clinical Study is being conducted at several obesity centers throughout the U.S. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the TOGA Procedure for the treatment of morbid obesity. The TOGA Procedure is an investigational treatment and is only available to patients through the TOGA Clinical Study.

If you qualify and choose to join the TOGA Clinical Study, you will receive all study-related care at no cost. This includes the TOGA Procedure, medically supervised nutritional counseling, and other medical care provided throughout the course of the study.

TOGA Study Details

As part of the TOGA Study, 2 out of every 3 patients will initially undergo the TOGA Procedure to create a small pouch within the stomach (see TOGA Procedure), while 1 out of every 3 patients will undergo a “control” procedure. The control procedure is similar to the TOGA Procedure, except in the control procedure no pouch is created. If you choose to join the study, you will be randomly assigned to undergo either the TOGA Procedure or the control procedure.You will not be told which procedure you have undergone for one year. During this year, as part of the study, you will receive nutritional counseling and medical follow-up at no cost. After one year, if you had originally received the control procedure (and still meet all study criteria), you will be offered the opportunity to undergo the TOGA Procedure at no cost to you, and your study physician will continue to track your progress.

In order to be eligible to participate in the TOGA Clinical Study and undergo
the TOGA Procedure, you must meet specific study criteria. These criteria
